BIO
Wong Diane is a musician from Malaysia. Growing up in a multi-ethnic environment, she was constantly exposed to music of great diversity through local Chinese, English, Malay, and Tamil radio stations. For this, Diane's musical interest goes way back since her early youth.
Diane started learning classical piano and music theory at the age of six, later earning her Grade 8 Piano certificate from ABRSM. Upon finishing high school, Diane moved to Hong Kong to study jazz piano and music production with Ku Chi - an active songwriter, producer and educator in the Cantonese/Mandarin music scenes. Diane was accepted to Berklee College of Music in 2015 where she was mentored by unparalleled musicians pulled from all over the world. In 2018, she obtained her Bachelor of Music in Contemporary Writing & Production Summa Cum Laude with a minor in Theory of Jazz and Popular Song. In 2022, Diane completed her Master's degree at Hunter College with a double major in both Composition and Ethnomusicology. She graduated Summa Cum Laude while also receiving special commencement recognition for outstanding achievements spotlighted by President Raab.
As a music producer/composer, Diane's music has been used on high-visibility projects such as The Daily podcast, Modern Love, Samsung Galaxy Watch Experience, WarnerMedia Prow, Verizon Rewards, Normal VR Half & Half, and AICP Sponsors Reel. Her music as an artist also got on the Spotify Viral 50 chart in Indonesia and has so far garnered over 2 million streams. As a gigging musician, Diane plays at notable venues like Christie's Gallery at Rockafeller Center, Rockwood Music Hall, Pianos, 54 Below, and Club Cumming. She has also worked with acts including Ron Carter, Tigran Hamasyan, Victor Wooten, Nik Bärtsch's RONIN, Becca Stevens, Black Violin, and DOMi in live sound settings. Still, she is further expanding her musical positions through frequent collaborations with productions and musicians from different realms of the music industry.
